Dr. Rana Taji is the owner and Medical Director of Toronto Medical Eye Associates in North York, Ontario.
She is a lecturer, offering subject matter expertise on dry eye disease. In addition, she partakes in multiple pharmaceutical projects, and serves as an adjunct faculty clinical supervisor for student doctors from US and Canadian Optometry schools. With multiple conference presentations, participations in publications, and extensive lecturing, Dr. Taji has a keen focus and passion for dry eye disease diagnosis and management.
She has been in clinical practice since 2010, obtaining her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Michigan College of Optometry and her fellowship in Ocular Disease from the American Academy of Optometry, of which she is an active member. She practices full-scope comprehensive care, with a particular emphasis on ocular disease management and treatment. Prior to practicing in Canada, she worked at a large Ophthalmology clinic in Northern Virginia, enjoying full scope of practice, being on call for ocular emergencies, and serving as a clinical sub-investigator on several FDA clinical trials. Following her practice in Virginia, she joined a Glaucoma sub-specialty Ophthalmology clinic in Kingston, Ontario where she continued her passion for ocular disease treatment. She actively manages glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy and manages and treats a whole range of chronic conditions like dry eye disease, blepharitis, and emergency eye care.
Dr. Taji has extensive knowledge in pre- and post-operative care for refractive and cataract surgery patients. She has taken a special interest in the treatment and management of Glaucoma and Dry Eye disease and has a significant amount of experience managing these often difficult conditions for many.
She is excited to have returned to her roots, having grown up in the greater Toronto area. She is enthusiastic about continuing to provide a high standard of care to her patients.
Her Optometric affiliations include being a fellow and active member of the American Academy of Optometry. She is licensed to practice Optometry in Ontario, and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Dr. Taji enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has two active and energetic boys that always have her on the go. She enjoys traveling, running, kayaking, and trying different restaurants and cuisines.
