Types of Eye Emergencies

Dealing with eye emergencies and injuries of any kind can be stressful. At Toronto Medical Eye Associates, we are equipped to assist with eye emergencies such as:
- Eye pain
- Flashes and floaters
- Contact lens-associated infections and disorders
- Inflammatory eye conditions
- Eye related allergies
- Pink eye-related infections
- Stye related infections
- Eye trauma
- Scratches to the eyes
- Pre and post-operative surgical complications related to refractive or cataract surgeries
- Foreign body sensation in the eye due to trauma, foreign object, etc
When dealing with an eye emergency, it’s essential not to rub or apply pressure to your eyes. If any foreign objects are stuck in your eye, do not remove them without professional help.
Chemical injuries require a different approach, as you should rinse your eyes with water as soon as possible.
